Downtown River Market

The Downtown River Market neighborhood includes the River Market District, Main Street Creative Corridor, MacArthur Park Historic District, Governor's Mansion Historic District, SoMa District, and East Village.

Welcome to The Downtown River Market

The River Market District is located in downtown Little Rock just east of the Statehouse Convention Center. The district is bound by the Arkansas River on the north and east, Main Street on the west, and East Capitol Avenue on the south. Built in 1996 as part of the city’s urban revitalization project, Ottenheimer Market Hall is located at the heart of the district and hosts a weekly farmer’s market in the Market Pavillion. The William J. Clinton Presidential Center is located at the district’s eastern end.

Over the past decade, downtown has seen dramatic transformation and growth, and it’s not slowing down. Renovations and revitalization projects continue up and down Main Street and President Clinton Avenue. Tourists and residents alike can’t get enough of the new amenities, including the newly-renovated Robinson Center and restaurants popping up along downtown’s Creative Corridor and in SoMa (South Main).

While some residents opt for downtown living in high-rise condos with river views like those in The River Market and 300 Third Tower, others choose the grand Southern mansions and refurbished eye-catchers as well as the locally-minded restaurants found in the historic Quapaw Quarter.

Downtown is also home to some of the best schools in the state and offers a variety of educational options, from daycare to college, both public and private. With top-notch libraries, museums, and educational centers added to the equation, you can be sure that downtown provides outstanding learning opportunities for toddlers, seniors, and everyone in between.
